- Web2.0系の顧客も多いが、Enterprise顧客も増加しており、特に、開発、テスト、QA環境としてCloud Computingを効果的に利用するケースが非常に多くなっている。
- 競合がひしめく中、Cloud Computingの価格はどんどん下がっていく、と予想してる。
- 世界中のIT予算はどんどん少なくなっていく、と予想する。 Cloud Computingの浸透がこれに大きく寄与する、と考えている。 今まで高額な人件費やシステムリソース費がどんどん、自動化技術や、安価なCommodity HWの採用に沖が得られている。
- Cloud Computingが中々成長していかない要因の一つとして、企業内のIT部門の抵抗があるから。 自分のキャリアに対する脅威として移っているケースを良く見ている。 しかし、時代の流れには逆らえない、と考えている。
ServePath/GoGrid founder and CEO John Keagy was among the speakers at the recent Cloud World/Open Source World conference. Video blogger Barton George caught up with John at the show to discuss some of his views on the industry, including his expectation that the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) space will see prices drop as the competition heats up. This view is interesting in light of the subsequent launch of vCloud Express, in which several VMware partners are offering IaaS services at or below Amazon's pricing.
