(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Cloud storage service provider Nirvanix (www.nirvanix.com) announced on Wednesday it has completed the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 Type II audit that verifies that its control processes have been formally evaluated and tested by an independent accounting and auditing firm.
In addition, Nirvanix says its security and control processes have been audited and approved by multiple Fortune 50 organizations.
As an auditing standard for service organizations developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, SAS 70 is a widely recognized assessment of a company's strengths of internal controls based upon identified objectives.
Type II certification includes both a description of these objectives as well as tests validating the effectiveness of the organization's controls.
Verizon Business, Switch and Data, and CRG West all recently announced they have completed the SAS 70 Type II audit.
Nirvanix was found to continually maintain its information security policy as well as monitor and test its network.
"Enterprises looking to make a move to the cloud have a great resource in SAS 70 Type II certification that confirms a solution provider's ability to fulfill its business requirements as promised, consistently and reliably," says Jim Zierick, president and CEO of Nirvanix. "Third-party validation of security and control processes of cloud storage providers helps ensure that information remains safe and secure. SAS 70 Type II certification is a standard that all enterprises should look for in any cloud storage provider."
The Nirvanix Storage Delivery Network offers a fully-managed, highly secure cloud storage service designed for enterprises.
The company recently began providing Samba Tech with content storage and delivery services for its SaaS-based rich-media management platform, Liquid Platform.
