AsterData社は、MapReduceをベースとしてデータウェアハウスや複雑なアナリティクスアプリケーションに必要となる大規模データベースの高速並列処理機能を提供するソフトウェアベンダー。
Terremark社と組むことによって、同社のEnterprise Cloud Infrastructureに搭載し、クラウド環境からこのデータベースシステムを提供するサービスを発表した。
ターゲットはTerremark社が得意としている政府関連の省庁で、大規模データウェアハウスのクラウド化のニーズが高まっている、と述べている。
